It took a grueling two hours to determine a winner between Botswana’s tennis player, Seabo Saleshando and South Africa’s Tshepang Maisela in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) U18 Gaborone J30 tournament played today.

Maisela won the match 7-5, 7-5 to eliminate the tournament’s seed one.

Despite losing, Saleshando, who was a marvel to watch, said in a post match that he was not happy with his performance.

“I should have done what I have been working on while preparing for the tournament. I made a lot of errors today,” he said.

He said he failed to take his chances but added that he would now focus on the doubles and also prepare for the J60 to be held next week.

Maisela said he played a tough match, which took a lot of hours to determine the winner.

“I think I won the game because Seabo’s body could not carry him. I think I am happy with my performance because I have been out of action for six months,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nina Sekonopo lost 6-0, 6-0, to South Africa’s Meri Sandeenbergh, while Tinashe Phatshwane also lost 6-1, 6-1 to South Africa’s Hlumani Kekana. Ends
