The ecstatic X-Factor Global hopeful, Ontefetse Osego continues in his fund raising journey to be able to participate at the renowned X-Factor Global musical competition scheduled to be held on June 30 in the United Kingdom. 

He recently serenaded the atmosphere with his thrilling voice at Full Gospel Church of God Hall in Kanye. The Former My Star 2013 competition participant’s voice did not disappoint as usual as he treated his audience to his artistic refined voice.

Since the X-FactorGlobal competition is annual, he said he had kept on requesting sponsors and this year luck found him with Botswana National Arts Council promising to assist with a tune of about P50 000 from the Mobility Fund. In order for him to hit the Global stage, Osego is faced with securing P200 000.00 more since his budget is P250 000. He said with the Kanye event he had targeted to raise about P50 000 inclusive of pledges adding that his target has not yet been fulfilled. The pledges, he said, were yet to be received.

 “The show is the third on the lineup and had long been announced since September 2024,” shared Osego, who further noted that he had already performed in Ghanzi and Jwaneng.

After the Kanye show was held successfully, the next show is anticipated to be in Maun and dates are soon to be announced, he said. He said he was hopeful that his longtime dream to participate at the X-Factor Global would become a reality this year.

 “In the past I have had challenges in securing finances from potential sponsors to attend these global competitions,” He revealed.

He said he would continue pressing on with the preparations and seek funding, further calling for Batswana’s continued support as his means to carry on with preparations were now exhausted.

Commenting on the event, Bikie Ketsebae, the resident Pastor at Full Gospel Church which is also Osego’s spiritual home in Kanye said, Osego’s preparation efforts were challenged by a number of factors inclusive of finances to carry out logistics for his performances. However, he said that did not stop the ongoing efforts to press on with the fund raising journey.

He further pledged continued support to Osego and added that the team has to consider putting more effort in the ongoing event’s promotional activities. ENDS
