Senior national football team coach, Morena Ramoreboli has assembled a strong squad to take on Algeria in a 2026 World Cup qualifying match at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown tomorrow.
The coach has roped in overseas-based Reneilwe Batlokwa as well as new faces into the team, namely Tshepo Keselebale from Security Systems and Kemoneetswe Mmangwedi from TAFIC, alongside established players from the national team’s regular roster. Ramoleboli has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to face Algeria.
“We are ready for the game and everything we have planned is on track,” he said.
He appealed to the public for maximum home ground support. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter as the Zebras face stiff competition within their World Cup qualifying Group G. Algeria currently tops the group with nine points while Zebras is on third position with six points. Other teams in the group are Mozambique, Guinea, Uganda, Algeria and Somalia.
Botswana has already played four games in the competition, won two against Guinea (1-0) and Somalia 3-1 and lost 3-2 to Mozambique and 1-0 to Uganda. After the Algeria encounter, the Zebras will on March 25 take on Somalia in the same campaign at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium. ENDS
