Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) will host the annual Best of the Best tournament to be held at Molapo Piazza over the weekend.
BoBA spokesperson, Gaone Motshwanaesi has assured fans that all preparations had been made to host a successful showpiece.
She said this edition was different given that there will be new faces introduced from the development side, adding that for the Best of the Best, only four boxers are selected from each category.
“For new comers, who recently joined boxing to have made it to Best of the Best, it is a clear indication that we are going somewhere,” she said.
Motshwanaesi said the tournament was an important event in the BoBA calendar and the affiliates always looked forward to it, given that it is also used to select the national team.
“Most of the affiliates started to prepare for the tournament last year because they know the importance of competing in the tournament,” she said.
She pointed out that  tough competition was expected for all categories, adding that she was happy that all the boxers know the importance of competing in the tournament.
Meanwhile, one of the bouts to look out for is the 51kg category between Ribbin Modise of Prisons, who recently won the AFBC Zone IV championship and Arnold Nkagisang of Tsholofelo Boxing Club.
Both boxers are talented with agile footwork, and their bout is expected to keep the spectators on their toes.
The AFBC Zone IV championship gold medalist, Kobamelo Molatlhegi, will wait for the winner between Kgosi Mosimakoko and Ofentse Kelosiwang to battle it out in the finals.
Another bout to look foward to will be between Mmusi Tswiige and Kagiso Ntoti, who will face off in the 75kg category. In the women’s category, the AFBC Zone IV championship gold medalist Keobakeng Phillip and Letlhogonolo Makoba will meet in the straight final in the 60kg. ENDS
