The rhythmic claps and harmonious melodies of clap and tap gospel music filled the air at Botho University as the Soul Redeemers Gospel Choir hosted the second edition of the annual Clap and Tap Health Awareness Festival.
The overnight event, which started Saturday evening right up to Sunday morning, was a celebration of faith and music while raising awareness about crucial health issues affecting communities.
Bringing together some of Botswana’s finest youth-led gospel choirs, the event saw Spiritual Healing Church Extension 4 Basha, Maatia Gospel Choir, and Angels of God Church Choir taking turns to showcase their talent.
Adding an international flair to the lineup was Lejwe la Motheo Artist Development from South Africa, a choir widely recognised as a powerhouse in the Clap and Tap space.
The festival opened with a combined prayer session and thereafter, choirs took to the stage in turns, each delivering three pieces.
Spiritual Healing Church Extension 4 Basha was the first to perform, captivating the audience with Shelane e Wele, and Lefu Lage.
Their performance set the tone for the night, creating an atmosphere of devotion and praise.
Angels of God Church Choir followed with a heartfelt performance of Eloyi ya Masabakatane, Bophelo ke Wena Fela and they were followed by Soul Redeemers Gospel Choir. All the choirs were clad in navy blue and white outfits.
Soul Redeemers performed, Semphete le Nna and Sechaba sa Kereste while Maatia Gospel Choir continued the momentum with Joko ya Hao, bringing an electrifying performance to the worship-filled night.
The final performance was by Lejwe la Motheo Artist Development, with Mo Dinageng tsa Lenyora, Empa Batho Ga Ba Tsebe, and Motse Waka wa Thubega, solidifying their reputation as one of the most formidable choirs in the region.
A special appearance by Motsweding FM radio presenters doubling as preachers, Mookamedi Tube and Brown Mosiapoa made the event a night to remember. ENDS
