 The actor and producer, Donald Molosi has been announced as the winner of the prestigious title of Outstanding Professional in Africa for the year 2025 by the Africa Outstanding Professionals Awards (AFROPA) Secretariat in Gambia.

Molosi, who has been awarded for his excellence in cultural diplomacy, will receive the award at a ceremony in March in Gambia.

“Africa is waking up to her excellence. I am grateful to accept this massive award from Gambia. I appreciate that Gambia recognises my work in acting as well as in global consultancy,” said Molosi, whose short film, Partly Cloudy & Hot, was certified Oscar-qualifying in Atlanta, Georgia last year.

Molosi’s credits as an actor include, Green Zone (2007) opposite Matt Damon and A United Kingdom (2015) opposite Rosamund Pike.

His books include, Dear Upright African (2019), We Are All Blue (2016), Blue, Black and White (2015) and Gambit (2014).

His other works include being a lead consultant for Uganda’s 50th independence anniversary in 2012.

Molosi was at some point headhunted by president Ma of Taiwan to assist when Taiwan marked its 100th anniversary as a republic in 2011.

Currently, Molosi is a lead consultant on a similar project in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Africa Outstanding Professionals Awards will be held at a glamorous red carpet gala event in Banjul, The Gambia on March 25.

The awards, a pan-continental initiative are aimed at recognising and celebrating exceptional professionals across various fields of activity.

They also serve as a platform to highlight the achievements of individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary capability and accomplishment in their respective domains.

In addition, they contribute to the broader goal of enhancing Africa’s competitiveness on the global stage. Ends
