Born and Raised on December 21
18 Nov 2024
The eighth edition of Born and Raised music festival is scheduled for December 21 at the Serowe Sports Complex, co-founder of the festival, Goaba Mojakgomo, disclosed recently during a press conference.
Sponsored by Trans Cash and Carry as the headline sponsor, the event is expected to continue attracting a large audience in yet another edition, which is promising to thrill its patrons with a star-studded line-up from both Botswana and South Africa.
Mojakgomo said over the years, the event has shown growth in numbers, attracting audience from the SADC region.
He said the large following and interest is also owed to the intentional effort of Born and Raised taking some of Botswana creative talent to South Africa for the Born and Raised Activation tour in 2022.
The event has also over the years given its patrons a variety of entertainment and ensuring that everyone is catered for.
Mojakgomo said they always strive to give revellers what is trending in the music circles whilst also giving them the nostalgic feeling.
For an experience to remember, Mojakgomo said their VIP section this year will also be something to cherish for their audience.
“It will be the first ever to be experienced in Botswana. We have redeemed ourselves and we want to be above the rest in providing the best experience VIP for our clients,” he noted.
Giving her remarks as a sponsor, head of marketing of Trans Cash and Carry, Thapelo Mmono said the Born and Raised festival is an inspiring event created by creative youth and therefore said her company recognises the hard work behind the brand and the festival.
She said they believe in the power of community and celebration, which Born and Raised has displayed over the years.
When not preparing for entertainment for their patrons, Born and Raised also embarks on corporate social responsibility, and they have few projects under their brand in the central district.
Two houses have been built and they have also adopted Motalaote Primary School in Serowe.
Mojakgomo also indicated that before this year’s festival, they will hand over a construction project at Motalaote Primary School as part of their giving back to the community.
Some of the international headline acts already announced for the edition are Sun El Musician, Revolution, Morda, Oscar Mbo and Kelvin Momo.
Tickets for the festival have also started to sell at Trans Cash and Carry, as well as selected Liquorama and Choppies stores countrywide. Ends
