On Tuesday, multitudes of mourners gathered at the Mogale homestead in Phakalane for a memorial service of Tshepang Mogale, a My Star 2008 contestant, who was found dead on Monday morning and laid to rest Tuesday afternoon in Gaborone.

Giving details about Tshepang’s death, the family spokesperson, Godirile Mogale, said she discovered Tshepang on Monday morning lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds and notified the Botswana Police Service (BPS) officers.

“We had not heard from Tshepang in few days, which was unusual of her. On Sunday I checked on her, her car was not at home, her gate was locked and there was nothing strange. On Monday morning I returned to her house and I jumped over into the yard only to discover her lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor,” she said.

Godirile said the medical report revealed that Tshepang was stabbed with a sharp object on her chest, lower abdomen area, below the shoulder and on her head and her body was in a bad state, necessitating the urgent burial.

Just before the burial, a brief memorial service was held and many speakers painted a picture of Tshepang as a loving and humble person who never failed to positively uplift lives of those she crossed paths with.

Tshepang’s uncle, Magogodi Mogale, said his niece had a unique ability to make everyone feel special.

“She had a way of listening and making anybody feel heard and she had proper words for encouragement when needed,” he explained.

His brother Thobo Mogale shared that his sister was stylish and classy, that her sincere desire to uplift others was a defining feature of her personality and that she left a legacy she will be remembered with forever.

“Tshepang always believed in herself despite the challenges she encountered. Although she grew up naughty, along the way she discovered herself and worked towards her transformation,” he said.

The memorial service also featured heartfelt performance from her children paying their last respect too through song. Tshepang is survived by her mother, a brother and four children, three boys and a girl. Ends
