Puna Gabasiane-Molale’s 25-year celebration in the music industry was a well attended event held at Tsholofelo Park on Saturday.

Dubbed one of the country’s leading jazz singers and vocalist,  the 48-year-old also celebrated her birthday. Danton Molale, Gabasiane’s husband said the event was also meant to demonstrate unity among performers.

The silver jubilee demonstrates Gabasiane-Molale’s  dedication to the industry and the connection she has with those she worked with, Molale said. The list includes Banjo Mosele, Seeretsi and the Natives, Flick Band, Nono Siile, Kearoma Rantao, Nnunu Ramogotsi, Thabang Gaarogwe and Soccer Moruakgomo.

Molale also described Gabasiane-Molale as a mentor to upcoming artists. Towelah Gabasiane Ken said her sister’s music appealed to all.

“I’m so proud of her and the milestone she achieved in the industry. She has been an inspiration to us. I love that she has made me fall in love with Jazz music, “she said.

Tumediso Loeto popularly known as Shanti Lo in an interview said he was happy to celebrate the queen of Jazz whom he said exuded positivity.

“I have known her for quite some time, she is woman of many words, a brilliant and amazing person,” said, Oabona Disho when asked to talk about Gabasiane-Molale. 

He encouraged upcoming artists not to give up on their dreams. ENDs
