Kobamelo Ntshegetsang (22) and Kamogelo Freddy (20) will compete at the Miss RADP and fashion show finale to be held in November after being crowned Miss RADP and Mr RADP fashion show winner for Tonota.

The duo, both from Gojwane settlement, stole the hearts of the judges during the pageant, which was held in Tonota on September 21.  

Ntshegetsang’s performance was as captivating as her catwalk, which was meticulously honed in countless hours of practice.

Her move resembled that of a predator in a jungle, not of bushes and thorns, but of sequins bling studs.

She walked in rhythm with the pageant song, Hello by Beyoncé, her every move seemingly pulsating with an inner strength, a story of resilience and ambition.

The first and second princess went to Warona Mooratsatsi and Barulaganyi Ntsholetsang, both from Mabesekwa.

While Ntshegetsang claimed victory, the first and second princesses put up a strong fight for the crowned in the last top five.

For Freddy, the road to be crowned Mr RADP was like cutting a butter with a hot knife.

He beat his other two contenders, Poloko Ditirwa and Kesego Ntshegang.

Giving a word of encouragement, Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), Francistown branch Manager, Mpho Leboane said ‘It is never too late to chase a dream’, adding that it was a powerful reminder that life was a journey of continuous growth and discovery.

Leboane further indicated that the adage discouraged entertainment of limiting beliefs and encouraged embracing of the potential for one to transform and fulfil their life’s journey at any age.

“Dreams have a shelf-life,” said Leboane, emphasising that past experience should not diminish their ability to chase their dreams.

Miss RADP is a local beauty pageant, which was established by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in 2013.

The main objective of the pageant is to empower young women living in remote areas in line with the Affirmative Action Framework policy. BOPA
