Botswana’s sensational Afro Tech DJ, Hamza Tajbhai, known in the music scene as Tau.Bw, will today release his latest project, Overcome. 

The single, he collaborated with South Africans, Anga ‘Naak MusiQ’ Makubalo and Kusasa, was recorded at the Defected Records in the United Kingdom. 

The Afro Tech hit single is a masterpiece of Naak MusiQ’s vocals combined with the melodic production talent of Tau.Bw and Kusasa’s energetic Afro Tech style. 

Overcome gained traction at the London show, HERE in 2023 when South Africa’s DJ Shimza opened his set with it. 

And it has since gained support on the global Afro Tech stage with the Afro Tech favourites Shimza, Lemon and Herb and UK’s Kitty Armour already playing it.   “Currently, it is playing all over the world in the Afro Tech scene, and this happens a month before my performance in Europe at the legendary Amsterdam Dance Event,” Tau.Bw said in an interview. 

A Molepolole-born, Tau.Bw moved to South Africa where he pursued his musical talent.

Although it was not easy, he climbed the Afro Tech ladder and worked with big names in the genre and also his work made its way into sets of Afro Tech’s giants on the Afro Tech global stages.  “The genre is a special platform for African culture to be on the global stage. We are on the top of our genre globally and this gives me wings to push my music,” said Tau.BW whose music is played in over 140 countries .

Tau.Bw has also released Soul of my Soul single in collaboration with Boskasie and Zee Essential. 

The single is an awakening track regarding the sufferings of the people of Palestine and Tau.Bw said they were using music for a greater purpose and responsibility as they followed on the footsteps of other musicians in the past who used their songs to challenge the status quo at the time of apartheid in South Africa. 

The song, Tau.Bw indicated, had made its way to award winning international DJ Black Coffee’s track IDs. 

“Black Coffee has supported the song, and the royalties and income from this song go to the people in Palestine,” Tau.Bw said. ENDS
