The notion of brand names having influence on patrons cannot be underrated, and the rebranded Strata Supply is a testament to that. After its rebranding in January this year, Strata Supply derived from English name street, has found its way in most youngsters’ closets. 

This could be solely because of being outgoing folks, cognisant of fashion trends or probably because of the perception that local brands were affordable. 

Strata Supply, the brainchild of budding entrepreneur, Thabo Rantao, was birthed in 2016, and since it’s rebranding, the fashionable label had gained popularity among young people, especially the Gen Z, those born between 1996 and 2010. 

 In an interview with BOPA recently, Rantao explained that the brand’s mission was to be an exclusive clothing line that empowered individuals to never give up in life. Located in Phase 4 in Gaborone, Strata Supply is a local initiative taking pride in investing in the neighbourhood where Rantao grew up. 

Situated at Pure Drop/Leobah Complex, Rantao said the location, was significant given that it was the community he aimed to contribute to through his entrepreneurial endeavours. 

“Strata Supply exudes an inspiring culture, authenticity, and offers affordable quality clothing,” added Rantao. 

He said the brand’s clientele could find a variety of merchandise for those who yearned to look funky and up-to-date with modern fashion trends. 

The brand range includes shirts featuring various designs, including logos, slogans, and images associated with the spirit of never giving up. 

“The brand also offers hoodies and sweatshirts, often displaying their distinctive logo and unique graphics,” he said. 

As part of their collections, he said, they were designing hats and caps, including snapbacks and beanies with their branding. 

“For those who enjoy jogging and marathons, the brand offers comfortable and stylish joggers and sweatpants, often featuring the brand’s name or logo,” he said, adding that Strata Supply also has jackets, such as bomber jackets and windbreakers. 

In addition to clothing, the brand offers accessories such as socks, eyewear, party cups, bags, and other branded items. He mentioned that the brand occasionally released special collections and limited edition items in collaboration with other brands to commemorate specific events. 

Known for its emphasis on quality, style, and an inspirational message of perseverance and resilience, Rantao said Strata Supply drew inspiration from contemporary fashion trends, individuality, and self-expression. 

“We closely follow global fashion movements and popular styles in street wear and urban fashion, incorporating bold graphics, distinctive patterns, and contemporary cuts,” Rantao explained. 

The youthful entrepreneur said the brand took inspiration from street events, music, art, and social movements, reflecting the dynamic and diverse streets and hustle landscape. 

In line with growing consumer awareness and demand, he added that Strata Supply was influenced by sustainability and ethical fashion practices. Also he said the brand ensured that its production processes were environmentally friendly and socially responsible. 

Rantao also noted that all their products were packaged in eco-friendly boxes, avoiding the use of plastics or gift bags. 

For those interested in ordering outside of Gaborone, he said Strata Supply offered courier services both nationally and internationally, allowing customers to enjoy their products without being limited to Gaborone. 

Since its inception and rebranding in January, Strata Supply has received generally positive feedback. 

Customers and fashion enthusiasts appreciate the brand for several reasons, including the high quality of materials used, unique and stylish designs, excellent customer service, and the brand’s commitment to sustainability through eco-friendly packaging.
