The multi award winning artist, Shinkie Keithokile, will this Friday headline the first edition of Mmina Thoko Fiesta, a Gospel show presented by Vubo Music at the Maitisong Theatre. 

The show, aimed at helping local Gospel artists to grow their brands through collaborations and exporting their music, will feature some of South Africa’s cream of Gospel in Khaya Sibanyoni of Joyous Celebration, Omega Khunou of Spirit of Praise and Xolly Mncwango, who is a former member of Joyous Celebration and now working with Benjamin Dube. 

Botswana’s Esther Grace and Boitshepo Tlhabiwe will be among the performing artists ministering the Gospel. 

“We want to see local musicians hosting events on international platforms and this event will give our upcoming artists an opportunity and inspire them to aspire for excellence, quality and learn from each other and the best that will be featured,” said Shinkie. 

Mmina Thoko Fiesta also aims to remind people about the power of hymns, particularly the old compositions which are still relevant and powerful to date. 

“This show is a reminder that old songs can be restored, revived and still heal and touch lives,” he said. 

Shinkie’s performance will feature hymns and also his own compositions, with one of the songs titled, Keena Jehofa, which is a new single from his upcoming album. 

“People should expect to receive the Lord in a mighty way; they should expect to be moved and their hearts should be ready for the Lord.  This will not just be a music show, but excellence and quality for we serve an excellent God,” Shinkie said. 

Throughout his 15-year career, Shinkie performed at different platforms with seasoned local and international artistes in SADC, and his sensational performance with his bold voice sits well with Setswana, Xhosa/Zulu and English hymns. 

He has received awards ranging from Best Song of the Year 2022 at the Gospel Music Awards, Best Gospel Collaboration 2022 at the Gospel Music Awards, Best Styled Male Gospel Artist at the Annual Glitz Awards of Botswana Celebs 2022. 

In addition to his dynamic career, Shinkie curated The New Dawn concert, Home Coming and Rewind concert and Africa Unite among others. 

He also recorded The New Dawn Live in Johannesburg. 

Also, his hit songs Moya Waka and Ke Lakatsa Kgotso are receiving a lot of airplay on local and international platforms such as Trace Gospel, a DStv channel. ENDS
