Resurrect magazine launches men edition

29 Apr 2024

Katlego Moeletsi, otherwise known as “man of class” in social media circles,  is the inaugural cover face of the men’s edition of Resurrect magazine.

Founder of the magazine, Didimalang Kofa, said the Resurrect Men initiative was born out of the observation that men often felt neglected in social initiatives as empowerment efforts were focused on women and girls.

She said it was important to celebrate men in communities and households and acknowledge that they also faced challenges such as high suicide rates and gender-based violence.

Kofa stressed the need for a non-judgemental platform where men could discuss their experiences and struggles openly, saying her magazine offered that space.

She said her magazine was known for its impactful content and addressing real challenges as well as empowering individuals, adding that covering both men and women in their magazine would promote inclusivity.

The launch of the men edition of the magazine also included a panel discussion where men explored attributes defining a “man of class.”

The panelists shared what they thought a man of class was to them, and the cover man, Moeletsi,  who is also a fashion designer, shared his perspective. He said it was an ongoing journey of learning and fulfilling one’s responsibilities, adding that a man of class also dressed the way he felt comfortable.

Comedian and writer, Kedibonye Basenyapelo, known as Kid Boy on facebook, simplified it as finding purpose in life and learning to co-exist.

RB2 personality and author, Goitsemang Khutsafalo emphasised divine intervention, saying a man of class was the one fulfilling their God-given purpose and acknowledging their reliance on God.

Author and educator, Keabetswe Bagomi, stressed the importance of openness and seeking guidance from both God and mentors.

Highlighting the importance of health, nutritionist, Kabelo Moroka, advised men on the impact of food on their bodies, promoting mental well-being and disease prevention.

He called for a healthy diet and seeking guidance from nutritionists for better health outcomes. Ends
