Madam Queen Modelling Agency in conjunction with Riverwalk Mall, CB Stores and Topline will on Saturday host the 2024 Winter Fashion Show.

The fashion show is an annual event for the modelling agency.

The founder of the modelling agency, Queen Kolobe said in an interview that models would showcase the latest winter fashion trends from CB Stores and Topline clothing lines.

Kobobe affectionately known as Madam Queen said the show was intended to bring the international feel of fashion to Batswana and show them that to look fashionable and presentable did not mean one should travel outside to buy fashion trends.

Also, she said the intention was to woo potential sponsors to their fold and grow the brand bigger.

“The fashion and modelling industry is struggling a lot locally, but it is such a money spinning industry globally," she said, adding that they aimed to attract more sponsors for their upcoming shows so that they could engage the youth who were roaming the streets jobless.

Kolobe said they were thankful for their sponsors and partners who had been supportive since 2006 when the show was still in its infancy stages.

Madam Queen said they were engaging young aspiring models to try to motivate them and to eke a living out of fashion and modelling.

She said in her years in the industry she had seen some young talent blossom into reputable models and inspiring others.

“We have been operational for the past 17 years and have been supported by our partners to realise our dream. We urge young people not to lose hope and to make use of available government programmes such as the newly introduced Chema Chema Fund to grow their dreams,” she said.

The agency has worked with Celebrity World magazine, Kutlwano magazine, Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture among others.

Madam Queen has also established a youth development centre in Kumakwane where life training and entrepreneurship skills are offered.
