18 Apr 2024

Author, mentor and artiste, Cassie Paul, commonly known as Cassie, has released a book titled Coming Home To Self.

In an interview on April 17, she explained that the book primarily focused on the themes of self-love, identity, purpose and answering God’s call through personal stories.

”I was inspired to write Coming Home To Self by my own journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth,” she said.

As a mentor, she added that she wanted to share her experiences and insights to help others find themselves and embrace their true identities.

“By narrating my personal journey, I have provided readers with relatable examples that connect with them on a deeper level,” she said.  Cassie said she hoped to inspire and mentor readers by demonstrating that they were not alone in their challenges and that change was possible.

Cassie’s desire is for readers to find solace, direction and inspiration in her personal stories, encouraging them to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and rediscover their true selves.

Additionally she said she hoped that readers would feel empowered, practice self-compassion, and establish spiritual connections by reading the book.  Cassie also said she published the book with the hope of fostering a deeper sense of self-love and acceptance, inspiring readers to embrace their uniqueness and live authentically.  Writing Coming Home to Self, she said presented challenges, including balancing professionalism and vulnerability.

“I occasionally experienced memory loss due to head trauma healing, and ensuring the content was both educational and entertaining,” she said.

The Jalo hit maker also said she got inspiration from her network of friends, family, and fellow writers for support and engaged in self-care practices like journaling, exercise, and meditation to maintain clarity of mind and creativity.

The chapters she said were arranged in a storytelling manner.  “The book cover will make more sense as readers discover that the story involves moments of self-discovery and moments of losing oneself, which are explored in Coming Home to Self, she said.

She said the chapters progressively uncovered and emphasised that it was okay to admit when one loses themselves in their life journey.

“The first chapter serves as an introduction, discussing ways in which we can lose ourselves and providing guidance on how to recover.

The second chapter, Loving the Mirror, explores the concept of self-love,” she explained.

One of the chapters, Burning Bush, she said addressed the topic of purpose, which Cassie believed was a message from God.

She said it was aimed at encouraging people to pursue, discover and live out their God-given purposes. ENDS
