March 30 will mark the maiden Digawana Meat Festival and patrons are promised a feast of quality red meat, pork and chicken as well as appropriate music to help swallow it all down. The organiser of the meat festival, Bokamoso Karrim of Karrim Entertainment, said he thought about organising the meat feasting party after realising that there was a need for such entertainment in and around Digawana.

He expressed optimism that the festival would be a success, adding that it was a celebration of “our way of life.” He said feasting on meat was part of Setswana culture and that patrons would have a wide choice of red meat cuts, pork and chicken to choose from. He said nightcrawlers would also be catered for as there would tight security to ensure their safety and that of their valuables. He also promised flood lights to enhance safety and security. Tickets are available at Spar and Choppies stores and the early bird tickets go for P80, standard P100 and double only P150. He noted that patrons would buy the meat of their choice and be gifted free pap instead of the usual coupon system.  Music to cater for both the youth and adults would be provided by heavyweights such as Ditiro Leero, Zolasko, Ashley Gops, Tawana Ya Koma and Figos Pakara of Dipone Tseo fame. Gates will open at 9am to cater for children who would also get to enjoy water slides and jumping castles while their parents sample different kinds of delicious meat cuts such as t-bone, fillet and brisket.
