The Rise 2024 Botswana edition gospel music concert, headlined by South African gospel artiste Kgethang Konose, is scheduled to take place on Easter Monday at Molapo Piazza.

The purpose of the concert is not only to restore faith but bringing diverse church groups together to honour God under one roof. Giving an overview of the concert, one of the event organisers, also the Director of Hi Key Productions, Nnunu Ramogotsi, said the concert was also set to make a difference in the lives of the needy, a portion of profits generated to will be used to support the interests of some of the youth housed at Gamodubu Child Care Trust, which cares for over 80 vulnerable children.

“Part of the profits generated is set to provide necessary resources to some of the youth at the centre who have shown interest to engage in music as their career path, this is to nurture and groom them, for their dreams to materialise,” she said. Other notable South African artistes featured included Dr Winnie Mashaba, Puleng March, the Bafokeng Brothers, Angela Moatshe, and Thapelo Molomo, they will perform alongside the incredible local artistes including Ramogotsi, Johnson Pheto, and the Tsholofelo Church. Ramogotsi said presenting a broad gospel artiste line-up was also intended to develop benchmarking and collaboration measures, as well as to encourage unity among gospel performers from various church faiths for the industry’s continuous growth. While The Rise Gospel concert was only held in South Africa, Konose said the objective was to expand it to other nations for the benefit of gospel musicians around the world. ENDs
