Seanokeng Limpopo Camp Festival Saturday

25 Mar 2024

Nature lovers will be in for a treat as Ramotlabaki village development committee (VDC) will be holding the inaugural bush veldt event dubbed Seanokeng Limpopo Camp Festival at Madikwe on Saturday.

The much anticipated festival camp, which was supposed to be held on December 9 last year,  was postponed to March 30 due to logistic challenges.

The festival is designed for people who love cultural exchange and enjoy the flora and fauna in the beautiful African sunset.

In an interview, the event organiser Tumelo Lekolwane said the festival was meant to not only promote Kgatleng region’s rich culture, but to market and celebrate the hidden treasures of Bakgatla heritage including tourist attractions such as game ranches for hunting, mokoro rides and scenic views of the village.

Lekolwane said the camp festival, a two-hours drive from Gaborone, would unlock opportunities for the dwellers of Kgatleng East while uplifting the economy of the village as a large number of revellers were expected to grace the event.

“Ramotlabaki, which lies at the confluence of the Limpopo and Ngotwane rivers, will be the host of a weekend breather for adventure seekers.

Bakgatla through their folk music will mesmerise the event.

I therefore urge all to come and witness the cream de la creme of the Sekgatla culture,” Lekolwane said.

He implored the community to take advantage of the festival as it promoted business linkages among small, micro and medium enterprises (SMME’s) as well as large local or foreign companies.

Standard tickets cost P100 and P200 for golden circle.

Part of the event’s proceeds will go to Ramotlabaki VDC. ENDS
