Exploit creative industry opportunities

It is time artists come out of their cocoons, take centre stage and exploit opportunities presented by the creative industry .    

The creatives have been implored to enrich their work in order to gain appeal and support.

Kgosi Tumelo Puleng of Letlhakeng echoed the plea at Department of Broadcasting Services roadshow at Letlhakeng on Thursday.

He said they should endure the challenges in creative industry, stating that dividends may not be instant.

“Dividends may not be instant but do not despair,” he said, adding that resilience could   yield exponential returns.

He said there was more investment in the industry, that has potential to combat unemployment.   Kgosi Puleng urged parents to support their children in creative industry to make their artistic dreams alive. He said  the talent searching and road show promoted the creative industry.Councillor Gontshofetse Moketo of Letlhakeng North ward hailed the talent unearthing efforts, adding that nurturing talent was equally important,.

He said  talent could go redundant if not managed in a sustainable manner.

The councillor said many artistes had fallen victims of the circumstance and were now unable to fend for themselves.

In his Motivational speech, Thato Sikwane alias DJ fresh of Big Dawg productions said marketing was key in creative industry, thus challenged artistes to invest in marketing to be successful.    

Attendants enjoyed performances by Fred Bw, Bigbang crew, Odizzy, Zobas crew, Nasah G, Mansize, Soul Hustle, Da Quiz, Proto K1, Baghdah Pantsolas  and Morwa Kgaisang. ENDs
