Anicia Gaothusi is Miss Botswana 2024.

The 22-year-old who was crowned at Royal Aria in Tlokweng on Saturday, was gifted a brand new Volkswagen Polo valued at P250 000.  

First runner-up is Halle Hirschfield, while Sebaga Manyapedza secured the second runner-up position. Each of the runners-up will receive P25 000  and other prizes. 

Gaothusi’s prizes as Miss Botswana 2024 include P350 000 for Miss World 2025 preparation, P120 000 for personal upkeep, and a P150 000 clothing allowance, among other benefits.

These prizes were revealed during the top 10 reveal event in January. 

She will also enjoy a one year skincare hamper, monthly cosmetics hampers, a one-year gym membership, among other prizes.

The crowning event featured performances by Botswana’s renowned artist, Ezra Neethlings. Gaothusi’s journey to the crown began in junior school and she previously clinched the Miss Teen Botswana crown in 2019.

She also represented Botswana at Miss Teen International in 2019 in India, where she secured the second runner-up position. 

She was also  crowned Miss Teen International Africa in 2019.

 She made history as the first title holder from Botswana to win the Multimedia Award.

Outgoing Miss Botswana, Lesego Chombo, passed on the crown to Gaothusi and expressed gratitude to the people of Botswana for their support during her reign.

Judges included South Africa celebrity and National Director of Miss World South Africa, Carol Bouwer, Michael Petr - a dancer and choreographer from Czech Republic. 

Former Miss Botswana queens also were part of the judging team. 

Gaothusi will represent Botswana at the next Miss World event. ENDs
