Queen Esther International Beauty Pageant on cards

21 Mar 2024

Queen Esther Pageantry, a renowned beauty pageant organisation, is set to make history by hosting its first-ever international pageant at Cresta Maun on April 20.

The event will see over 15 countries participating, to showcase the diverse beauty and talent found in Africa.

This was said by the executive coordinator for Queen Esther Organisation Vehae Tjiriange during a press conference in Maun.

“This organisation was inspired by the book of Esther in the Bible and it has been in operation since 2010 with a mandate to empower the girl child or young women to be outstanding and remarkable role models and agents of change to their generation,” she said.

In a ground-breaking move, the pageantry will be held entirely online, allowing participants and viewers from around the world to join in the celebration.

However, a setup will be made on the day at Cresta Maun for people to physically attend the pageantry.

For her part, Ngamiland Council of Non-Governmental Organisation chairperson Taboka Rotsi highlighted that as a leadership mentorship programme for young women, Queen Esther Beauty Pageant had empowered many young girls including the reigning Miss World Africa Lesego Chombo, who was Queen Esther back in 2012.

“We have seen Queen Esther reaching out to young girls in the community through leadership programmes and trainings and they have also been supporting Bana ba Letsatsi throughout the years. So the impact this pageantry has on the girl child is indeed massive,” she said.

Director at Happy Homes Academy, Edith Ajei appealed to the public to support and sponsor the upcoming international pageant as it was a platform for talented individuals from diverse backgrounds to showcase their beauty and skills.

“We need the help of generous sponsors who share our vision of empowering individuals through beauty and talent providing opportunities for aspiring contestants to fulfill their dreams,” she said.

She further appreciated the support of those who had been supportive of the organisation and urged others to join hands in building women who would represent them in all aspects of life.

Meanwhile, Pearl Mogaetsho will be representing Botswana in the Queen Esther International Pageantry that will be held in April. Ends
