Award winning multi-genred Afro sensation Hanceford Magapatona alias Han C has jumped into the bandwagon of closing the gap between older and younger generations by remaking one of favourite classics, Ntsa e jele ntsanyana.
The Generation X musician proved his versatility through his thrilling collaboration with Banjo Mosele on the remix of the song with the duo jellying well despite their age difference.
Originally with a jazzy feel for the older generation and a hit during their time, now a classic, the remake of Ntsa e Jele Ntsanyana brings about a vibrant and catchy sound perfect for a partying mood for the younger generation, not surprising as Han C has always been a fan of the song.
“It has always been one of my favourite jazz songs, and now and then I would sing it in my way hence an idea to have a remix of the song,” said Han C in an interview, adding that a classic could never be replaced, but modernised.
Bringing the owner of the song to the remix was also a great idea and Han C said working with him was an easy process.
“He is such a cool, calm and collected gentleman,” he said.
Han C further explained that he had approached Mosele about remaking his song, but it took long.
The Gen X music star said he had initially sent a voice note of the idea to a keyboard player in order to make a rough beat.
Han C worked with Flex The Ninja to produce, engineer and mix the remake of Ntsa e jele Ntsanyana.
Flex The Ninja had previously worked with Thato Jessica and Veezo View among other artistes in Botswana.
Currently, Han C is working on his upcoming music project.
“More music is coming, I am trying to put together a couple of songs I want to release,” he said.
Also, he mentioned the scheduled YA MA94 capacity building workshop, a build-up activity for the anticipated YA MA94 show billed for March 31.
The YA MA94 workshop, Han C said would empower young people with skills such as financial literacy, mental health, insurance and anything that could help a young person grow.
“We want the workshop to be impactful to the young people, and we have different people from various companies who will be facilitating the workshop,” Han C said.
Meanwhile, Mosele said it was ‘a great experience working with youngsters. I learned a lot and Han C is a very good singer.’ Ends
