Fresh urges artistes to adopt mindset change

Local artistes have been advised to adopt a positive mindset change in order to reap more from their craft.
The call was made by Thato Sikwane known as Dj Fresh of Big Dawg Productions during the Season 2 Department of Broadcasting Services (DBS) Road Show Talent Search in Gumare on Sunday.
Adhering to professionalism standards, he said would take the artistes far in the industry.
Dj Fresh advised local artistes to change from bad habits such as showing up late and drunk when offered gigs.
“We know our habits that draw us back and lead to self-sabotage, let’s introspect and identify those bad habits to adopt mindset change,” he said.
In her remarks, Okavango acting deputy district commissioner, Tumelo Chibua observed that the Okavango District had a rich and diverse culture as well as talent.
Chibua therefore appealed to the youth to make use of their talent to earn a living.
A Gumare artiste, Ontibile Lemogang, trading as Nyina Boss BW, said she started her band in 2008 and had won in two separate occasions in the Live Band Category at the National Arts Competitions.
Nyina Boss BW expressed hope that she would emerge a winner in the DBS road show competitions although it was her first attempt in the competitions.
Different artistes showcased various genres such as reggae, rumba while Djs did what they know best at the DBS road show. Ends
