Miss Botswana, Lesego Chombo has presented her project for Beauty With a Purpose(BWAP): The Genesis, to the world in the presence of Miss World Chief Executive Officer, Julia Morley and the reigning queen, Karolina Bielawska from Poland. 

She made the presentation yesterday in a glamorous event at the Jio World Day held at Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition-Convention Centre, India. 

In her Facebook page, Chombo said BWAP is the heart of the world, “Now I am seeing why we had 117 beautiful women from across the globe sharing their incredible work for the betterment of their communities. 

This is the true essence of pageantry,” Chombo said. She voiced ecstatically in her page that she was happy to be wearing a gown made by children from the project. “Each day I spend here is in pursuit of a life better for them and I feel honoured to have carried them here with me,” Chombo said. 

Miss Botswana Organiser, Benjamin Raletsatsi said Chombo was doing well because on the day of her arrival, Miss World organizers and commentators listed her name on the top five in Miss World website, while in sports she became number two and made it to the final. 

The 71st Miss World will be crowned on March 9 at 730pm local time. 

The event will be live-streamed by Sony Liv.  Miss World Botswana is still appealing for support from Batswana to follow Chombo’s journey on the Miss World website.
