Acclaimed artiste, Kebonyetsala Samoka is preparing to release his highly anticipated album, Khutlo, which aims to inspire victims of gender-based violence. 

With a career spanning over a decade, Samoka, popularly known as Mogaka wa Koma, has captivated audiences with his unique sound and thought-provoking lyrics of mmino wa Setswana. 

He describes the album as a labour of love that took several months to complete. 

“This album is a message to the whole world to encourage, especially victims of gender-based violence. It’s a collection of stories and emotions and I can’t wait to share it with my fans,” said Samoka. 

It marks a significant milestone in Samoka’s career, showcasing his evolution as an artiste and his ability to push boundaries. 

The album has 10 tracks and is his further with Khutlo being ‘the song’.

Known for his ability to seamlessly blend genres and experiment with different musical styles, Samoka has consistently delivered chart-topping hits and critically acclaimed albums, the likes of his star track of 2021 Khutsafalo, which was nominated for Best collaboration in the BOMU awards in 2021 and this upcoming release is expected to be no exception, with insiders already hailing it as his most ambitious and personal work to date. 

Khutlo, which translates to full stop in English, is a testament to the artiste’s commitment to using the platform to address social injustices and through his music, he hopes to create a safe space for survivors and encourage them to find their inner strength and resilience. 

In addition to the album’s release, Samoka is in the process of registering a society for local artistes in Ngamiland, to support and encourage one another outside music. 

“The society is called Matswathobeng Cooperate Society and it already has 20 members. Services include saving and loaning, funeral coverage, car rental and as a social responsibility we will be helping the less privileged with the little that we have,” he said. 

Besides music, Samoka is a businessperson who sells and promotes brands, the likes of Mogaka wa Koma and Go Mosuke. Ends
