KTM hosts Gospel Night show April

15 Feb 2024

KTM Choir will on April 13 host the first ever KTM Gospel Night show to be staged at Maitisong in Gaborone.

The concert, meant to showcase the choir’s versatility as vocalists, will be in two parts.

The first part of the show termed Crucifixion of Christ, according to concert’s project manager Gaone Seitshiro will be based in the Holy book of Mathews and the music is composed by Terence Dube, KTM Choir conductor.

“The second part of this musical concert will give the crowd a mood of victory as it tells the story of Christ’s resurrection,” Seitshiro said.

He explained that the choir would have an opportunity to audition and use some of the KTM Choir young Gospel vocalists, alongside a five piece band, which he said would be outsourced.

Additionally, Seitshiro said the show would also feature local Gospel artistes to be part of this historical show.

Meanwhile, KTM Choir manager, Goitsemang Manson, laid down the choir’s roadmap for 2024.

He said the choir would not be embarking on international engagements this year, but rather work at improving growth for their members.

“This year we will work at hosting music trainings for our choristers. We will also have two shows this year locally; the Gospel Show as well as a show that will be KTM and other choristers,” Manson said.

The two shows are a build up to the choir’s preparation for the Montana International Choral Festival in the US next year.

According to the public relations officer of KTM Choir, Bonno Tatedi, the choir would do much ‘resting’ at home in 2024 and do music workshops in-house as they prepared to honour an invite to partake at the choral festival in the US.

“KTM choir also did this music festival in 1993 under the conduct of Gomolemo Motswaledi, and we will be doing it again in 2025,” Tatedi said. Ends
