The Fashion Week of All Nations Fashion Show to be held Friday is set to promote local arts, as well as diverse African culture through fashion design, says Daisy Botsoba, the director of Starlite Studios, the event’s organiser.
In an interview with on Friday, Botsoba said the event was a courtesy of Starlite studios in conjunction with Duma FM, Gaborone International Arts and Cresta Fairgrounds.
Botsoba said the exhibition and fashion show aimed to modernise and value traditional attire, provide a platform for artists to connect and network, develop their creative abilities, and support up and coming talent.
She pointed out that some of the attendees would be students from Technical and Vocational Education Training institutions.
“The purpose of the fashion show, themed Afrique Collections, is to honour and celebrate the variety of traditional African clothing, while also updating it to reflect current trends.
Among other nations, we are anticipating fashion designers from Ghana, South Africa and Nigeria,” she said.
Botsoba pointed out that even though the event’s arrangements were proceeding smoothly, she was still in need of sponsorship and any other pertinent support that would help make the event a success. Ends
