Gaborone Comedy Club on Friday celebrated their rib cracker, Ndiye Tampa AKA Triccs with a hilarious birthday special dubbed Too Young To Be Old.

Comedian Jonny Pula illustrated Batswana’s creativity by blending English and Setswana into words such as ‘Tshasement’ for lip ointment.

He sent the audience into fits of laughter when he described an up and coming successful person as ‘waclaima’ to give the impression of climbing a ladder.

As usual, guests eagerly awaited the next handpicked target for a joke, and it was a woman who was enjoying the rewards of her hard work at the counter. 

He joked about her spending, suggesting that she might be spending stokvel funds that had been reported missing. 

Another comedian, Baldwin Balls directed his jest to himself with his big tummy, claiming it was his extended pregnancy.

He also teased public school pupils from the 70s and 80s, saying their recitation skills were limited to rhyming while their English-medium counterparts enjoyed more sophisticated and meaningful recitations.Phetso Oabile added zest to the night by talking about ‘Kasi’ kids and their inventive ways.  

He painted a humorous picture of deserted homes, otherwise known as ‘Spook houses’. The show also featured a comedian from Lesotho, commonly known as Masapo, who left the crowd giggling. The show was also included music. Ends
