Having a perfect wedding is the dream of every couple planning to walk down the aisle. 

However, planning a dream wedding can be overwhelming, especially for couples who cannot afford or do not want to hire a wedding planner. 

The burden of planning and preparing for weddings can be significant and time-consuming, particularly for employed couples.

To address this need, Osego Maseko(35), a creative entrepreneur from Serowe’s Dinokwane ward, came up with modern solutions.

His company, Bots Wedding Links, is an online wedding directory providing access to wedding service providers all over Botswana, making it easier for couples to find services ideal for their wedding ceremonies.

Maseko’s initiative received funding from the Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport, and Culture through the Youth Development Fund (YDF) program, allowing him to launch his ingenuity officially on March 1 this year in Serowe.

By harnessing technology and advancements in the industry, Maseko aims to revolutionize the wedding planning process in Botswana and make it more efficient and convenient. 

With his background in adult education, Maseko observed the challenges faced by couples planning their weddings and aimed to simplify the process with his company.

He emphasised the importance of understanding your wedding budget early on, as it  wouldl influence many of the decisions to be made in the wedding planning process. 

Whether family members are contributing or the couple is financing the event themselves, understanding and scrutinising the finances is essential for a successful wedding.

"Your wedding budget will be the driving factor for many of your wedding-related decisions, so this should be one of the first things you tackle. If family members wish to contribute, chat with them about what they are comfortable spending, if you are footing the bill yourself, it was paramount to scrutinize your finances to hit the ground running.” Ends
