A quest to find Miss Supranational Botswana 2024 has kicked-off. The atmosphere at the auditions in Gaborone on Saturday was electric as aspiring beauty queens gathered to showcase their unique qualities that would go beyond physical beauty.

A panel of judges; Miss Supranational Botswana 2023, Dabilo Moses as well as owners and event organisers, Kaone Moremong and Pauline Dikuelo had the challenging task of selecting cream of the crop. From enthralling dance performances to soothing vocal renditions, the contestants proved  that this competition was not only about outer allure but also about inner brilliance.

In an interview, Moremong said she was happy with the turn out especially that the pageant was on its second edition.  From these auditions, the panel will sit down to select the top 30 girls who will proceed to the final,” she said.

Moremong highlighted that the auditions consisted of three rounds, each designed to  assess various aspects of a contestant’s personality, talent, beauty and intelligence. “I would like to point out that we are not looking for a full packaged queen at this  Stage, but rather a young woman who we can turn into a queen after a series of

workshops which will be facilitated by industry experts,” she said. She also appealed to businesses and government to endorse the pageant, expressing the need for sponsorship.

One of the participants, 20-year-old Thato Tshegofatso said she was hopeful to make it to the Top 30, adding that it will be her dream come true to strut the ramp at the grand finale.

“My audition went well, the judges made me feel comfortable onstage and I did my thing, it was quite an experience!” she said. The chosen few will continue their journey towards the coveted crown on March 31, representing not only their beauty but also the diversity and strength of the community. ENDS
