Han-C rules music awards yet again

Hanceford ‘Han-C’ Magapatona continued to reign supreme as he once again dominated the music awards, this time around, those of the Botswana Music Union (BOMU).
Held at Royal Aria in Tlokweng on December 16, Han-C made a clean sweep with four awards. He won album of the year with Tears of Joy, best male and best single alongside DJ KSB for Maloba and best Afro Pop for Tears of Joy.
The Mahalapye-born musician has had a good 2023 both at home and the international stage.
Last month, he won big at the Yarona FM music awards, walking away with three awards.
He was also recognised internationally at the African
Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) with a nomination under best male Southern Africa.
To end the year on another good note, Han-C bagged a nomination for the Kora Awards under the best male artist-African Urban Music category.
Wanita Mos boys, DJ Ngwazi and DJ KSB also emerged winners, affirming the BOMU best international award presented to Master KG, who is their record label owner.
DJ Ngwazi won best Amapiano album for Moratwa, song of the year for Eloyi as well as best music video for Eloyi. DJ KSB walked away with best single alongside Han-C for Maloba and best dance album for Maloba.
Another talented musician, Samantha Mogwe took home best collaboration alongside Mpho Sebina for Marang and best R&B for VII. The best newcomer award went to Sinnoh who was discovered during the Department of Broadcasting roadshow last year.
Some of the talents such as Elnny Kumar walked away with best female, Tehillah winning best group/duo, Team Distant won most played song on radio for Colder than water and Vee Mampeezy won best CBRT callertunes for Dololo. ENDS
