Yarona FM Climax co-presenter, Phemo Mmola aka DJ Sway and South African actress and model, Pearl Thusi are this year’s Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAs) hosts to be held at Molapo Showcase Piiazza on Saturday. 

The station general manager, Owen Rampha said in an interview that they had confidence that the duo, with their wealth of experience in events hosting, would deliver a spectacular and memorable event. 

“DJ Sway’s impressive contributions in radio, as a DJ, and in event hosting have earned him this well-deserved opportunity and Thusi, loved by Batswana, is best known for her role as Patricia Kopong in the BBC/HBO comedy-drama series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” he said. 

He said as Yarona FM, they were happy with the awards, which were on their eighth year and would be held under the theme; Drip Till Infinity. 

He said they had an array of categories, with winners receiving both a prestigious award and a generous cash prize.

 The awards are sponsored by Okavango Diamond Company in collaboration with St Louis Lager, Mascom Wireless, Taurus and BK Proctor Collections. 

Performances on the night, he said would be from Priscilla K, Chef Gustos, Han C, Courtney, Rockafella, KX Legit and the dynamica duo of Khoisan. 

“People must be prepared to be captivated by the performance of the KTM Choir, which have been honoured with a special invitation to the YAMAs stage”, he said. 

He added that the event would broadcast on Ytv and would also be streamed live. 

He said the night promises to be a momentous occasion as it welcomes back a live in-person audience and in the end reigniting the glitz and glamour that the YAMAs were renowned for. Ends
