Tehillah group dominates awards

The fourth edition of the Gospel Music Awards (GMA) has seen Tehillah Royal Music take centre stage as the group dominated in a night filled with heavenly melodies and soul-stirring performances.
This year’s awards ceremony, held in Gaborone on Saturday, turned into a celebration of talent and dedication as the group clinched five awards, leaving the audience in awe and admiration.
Known for their inspiring and spiritually uplifting music, Tehillah won the best gospel group, best contemporary gospel, best newcomer and best gospel song of the year awards.
They also received the coveted best gospel album of the year award, a recognition of its exceptional dedication and creativity to producing music that surpassed boundaries and touched the souls of Christians.
In an acceptance speech, the group thanked God as well as their families and friends for their support in its musical journey, which spanned over a period of 13 years.
For her part, GMA director, Gloria Dzwikiti said the awards ceremony was meant to recognise and celebrate talent within the local gospel music industry, honouring artistes and groups whose contribution continued to inspire and uplift.
“For those who did not win any awards, keep your head held high, continue working hard and produce more music, which will soothe, heal and impact the world,” Dzwikiti said.
In other categories, Tinashe Mangoriza aka Mr Tee won the best gospel radio presenter, Sesame Gabosekwe, who recently released ‘Arenaya Mohau’ album was conferred best female gospel artiste and the DailyNews was named the best media house. ENDS
