About 30 aspiring beauty queens will battle it out for the Miss Game City title.

They were selected during  auditions at Game City Roof Top on Saturday.

The pageant is part of the mall’s 21^st anniversary activities

Unlike others,  the pageant is inclusive allowing all women between the ages of 21 and 40 to contest irrespective of marital status, body type or whether one has children or not.

For the judges, what is important is finding an ambassador who can effectively promote Game City.

The chosen candidate will play a role in educating consumers about the mall’s products and services, and will also be responsible for creating engaging content, among other tasks.

Founder and director of Bash Connektor, Basadi Masimolole, also known as Bash, told BOPA in an interview that the upcoming celebration of the mall, was brought by Turnstar Holdings Limited and the beauty pageant Miss Game City was scheduled for October 20.

She expressed excitement about the overwhelming response received thus far, saying  it indicated a promising future for pageantry within the local community.

 She praised Turnstar Holdings for giving women an opportunity to become Game City brand ambassadors.

“The response has been amazing and I have realised that pageantry locally is growing and promising the best for the future”she said

Masimolole said the ‘Versatile Motswana Woman could refer to a woman from Botswana who is adaptable and multi-talented and a woman who possess a wide range of skills, knowledge, and abilities, allowing her to represent the well-established Game city brand,” she said

Game City centre manager, Osadi Nthaga said for over two decades, Game City stood as a symbol of quality and outstanding retail experience to Botswana community.

“To commemorate this significant milestone, Game City Mall has lined up a series of exciting events and initiatives that not only celebrate its  history,but also engage the local community in meaningful ways and Miss Game City is one of them,“ she said

She said they were excited to be sponsoring the Run Gabz by Nite Marathon, which was the first night marathon in the country, scheduled for October 21.

 The marathon, she said, will start and finish at Game City.

On the September 8, a successful night activation was held with over 1 098 runners taking part, she said.

She said the mall was taking a step towards promoting local arts and culture.

“We are providing a platform for various art groups, individuals, and organisations to host exhibitions and showcase their talents within the mall premises.” Nthaga added.

She said they firmly believed that the arts had the power to bring communities together.

Appreciating customers’ loyalty, she said without them they wouldn’t be having the mall which is now celebrating 21 years of existence.  ENDS
