Atira for Miss Cross Country September 2

Speakers have described Miss Pre and Primary Schools Botswana Atira Rapula as an ambassador who will represent Botswana at the international at cross country pageant.
Atira will represent Botswana at the Miss Cross Country International Pageant Grand Finale slated for September 2 in Mafikeng in the North West Province of South Africa.
Speaking during a home welcoming ceremony in Mmashoro on Saturday, Kgosi Robbert Modisagape expressed gratitude to see a five-year-old rising star at a tender age.
He thanked the Rapula family for lending the nation such a great asset to represent Botswana in the international plartform
He implored the family to work hard to ensure the young star made use of her talent.
Mmashoro councillor, Kgosietsile Kgosietsile said it was evident that Atira was talented hence the need to create a conducive environment for her and other young people to exploit their talent.
He said reputation was earned through hard work thus the onus was on the villagers to catapult the star to greater heights.
Speaking on behalf of the contestant, her uncle Onkgopotse Boitshwarelo said her niece had great talent and remained optimistic that she would continue to represent the country.
He said pageantry was a beautiful thing as it moulds contestants into great national assets.
For her part, the contestant’s elder sister Kobamo Boitumelo said pageantry united the world, as it brought contestants under one roof thus promoting cultural diversity.
She said pageants promote goal setting and inspired contestants to search their soul, think about the future and make a plan on how to get there. Sometimes, the pageant is a stepping-stone to achieving those goals, she noted.
Former Miss Mmashoro beauty pageant icon, Oakantse Sejo who spotted and nurtured Atira’s talent said she had potential and should set her eyes on bigger titles such as Miss World and Universe
Atira was crowned Miss Pre and Primary Schools Botswana at a glamorous event that was held at Cresta Lodge in Gaborone on in March this year. ENDS
