KeNo Suits hunts for male brand ambassador

17 Aug 2023

The local outfitting firm KeNo Custom Suits is on the hunt for a male brand ambassador.

Established in 2014 by two entrepreneurs Thobo Kerekang and Donald Nnoto, KeNo Custom Suits initiated the brand ambassador concept in 2021 when Daphne Muzila became the company’s female face.

Initially, the company owners were its primary face.

That served the company well in its formative years when men were the sole target market.

However, with new plans to introduce a ladies’ line, there was need for a female face.

That led to the ambassadorial role that was dubbed the Face of KeNo Ladies.

With the founders ready to hand over the male ambassadorial role, the hunt is on for ‘a savvy gentleman with a passion for fashion, charisma, and rocks a suit like it was made for him’.

While it is norm that such competitions are often won by influencers, Kerekang said they are looking beyond social media presence.

“The winner will be someone who is aligned to the brand, and what he stands for as a person will count, not the number of likes on their profiles,” explained Kerekang.

He said they opened the competition to all males, and had put in place judges to identify the right person who would have impact on the brand.

The competition will run for eight weeks, and will be in three stages.

Stage one will be for entries and from the entries a total of 30 candidates will be selected based on style, passion and representation of the KeNo Suits brand.

Stage two will see the 30 shortlisted candidates invited for a virtual interview to discuss their fashion journey, aspirations and ambassadorship ideas for the brand.

The top 10 finalists will be chosen on stage three, where the public will have a chance to vote for their favourite candidate on the social media pages of KeNo Custom Suits.

“Public vote will be through likes, comments, shares and retweets of candidates’ posts,” Kerekang said.

KeNo Custom Suits was formed to dress the metro man, and pioneered what has come to be known as the ‘CBD suits’.

The product line has since expanded to include men’s and ladies formal wear, KeNo Sports Wear, KeNo Scents as well as KeNo Premium Water.

“We also want to take KeNo to Africa as a whole and make it a household name,” Kerekang said.

The winner stands to win P10 000 cash, wardrobe makeover worth P24 000, brand makeover, a weekend to one of the local resorts, P1000 worth of groceries for 12 months, and psychosocial support among others. Ends
