It further explains that as part of the celebrations and prior to the main activity tomorrow, President Masisi will award medals to over 600 deserving officers during the awards ceremony at the Special Support Group (SSG) parade ground in Gaborone today.

Awarding of medals recognises and appreciates members of the BPS for their outstanding service and conduct in police duties, it states. The medals will be awarded to officers of different ranks and will consist of Botswana Police Meritorious Service, Botswana Police Distinguished Service Order, Botswana Police Jubilee Service Medal and Botswana Police Long and Good Conduct.ends
