Mogwe does it once more

Culture Spears traditional dance troupe pioneer Kabelo Mogwe alias Kulenyane has done it again with a solo project dubbed Khoemacau, which hit the shelves last week.
Khoemacau is Mogwe’s sixth solo project that the muso has released since embarking on solo projects in 2018.
The name Khoemacau is a combination of five Sesarwa words, translated as hills of the people, as per the Culture Spears website.
In an interview Thursday, Culture Spears lead singer revealed that Khoemacau was born after a visit to the Khoemacau mine where he was invited to perform for the employees.
“We were treated majestically at the mine and I was surprised to learn that there are hills that side.
Initially we thought we were just going to Toteng mine, a stone’s throw away, not knowing that it’s a long drive to a beautiful place,” said Mogwe.
He said upon seeing such an attractive place he was motivated to promote an unknown place and make it known to Batswana, while luring them to go see and experience its adventures.
Mogwe opted for stage name Kulenyane in honour of one of Culture Spears song Kulenyane, an all-time favourite in local music scene.
He has been doing well with such songs as Dibeisane and Lebante that are irresistible to most music enthusiasts.
“Sibi is one of the songs that was released and captured a lot of people’s hearts and it was playing a lot during the time when COVID-19 first hit and I believe Khoemacau will have the same reception as the previous hits,” he said.
While Khoemacau is intended to promote the natural reserves at the place, the place is compared to love and how it brings about peace and joy to people.
Mogwe advised other artistes to invest in marketing as an important part of the music industry given the competition.
The seasoned musician’s first performance of the Khoemacau was at Boteti culture day on Friday and the song is available online at supporters’ disposal. ENDS
