Coffee lovers descended in numbers to what was undoubtedly the year’s biggest lifestyle event to enjoy coffee.
The event dubbed: Safari in the city was hosted by Protea by Marriot Gaborone Masa Square on Saturday.
It lived up to the promise by providing guests with a once-in-a-lifetime experience characterised by good music, food, coffee and ambience.
In an interview, Protea by Marriot Gaborone Masa Square representative, Tshiamo Rakwadi said the overall goal was to create a lifestyle event that would showcase the best of local hospitality and entertainment.
“We aim to create a world-class experience for avid coffee drinkers, nurture a growing coffee community and culture whilst enjoying the speciality coffee on offer,” she said.
Known for its health benefits, Rakwadi said coffee taken in moderation could boost energy levels, support heart health and help with depression.
“This is the second edition of the event, after a three-year hiatus and we are proud to have collaborated with internationally renowned African cream liqueur, Amarula, as they introduced their new product, Amarula Ethiopian coffee to the country,” she said.
One of the attendees of the event, a passionate java drinker, Changu Moyo said she was excited to attend the event as it had opened her eyes to various brewing techniques.
“Learning that I can also add Amarula Ethiopian coffee liqueur to my favourite coffee beverage will provide me with the right kick to face my day,” she said enthusiastically.
Staying true to the theme of the evening, guests wore their finest safari attires as they danced the night away to 90s music, closing off a spectacular occasion. Ends
