Forbes Under 30 kickstarts with Pan African ceremony

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi took to the stage during the Pan African Welcome Ceremony held at the Gaborone Main Mall on Sunday.
The event marked the beginning of the Forbes Under 30 Summit Africa, which will run until Wednesday.
Forbes Summit offers youths from all over the world a networking opportunity where they can share ideas and build long-lasting partnerships to help expand their businesses.
The atmosphere on Sunday evening provided them with an opportunity to interact in a social atmosphere while dancing to the best music Africa has to offer.
The Pan-African welcome ceremony also presented a platform for small and medium businesses to sell their products mostly local artefacts to the international community.
As for the music, it was a non-stop dancing event and Batswana, mostly young people aged Under 30, danced and sang along.
The first artist to hit the stage was Dr Vom who, although has not released an album in over a decade, his ‘Tsaya Thobane’ remains the crowd’s favourite.
Donning his garment which resembles the one worn in Noah’s Ark, he involved the crowd, both Batswana and some international visitors joined in the dance although they did not understand the lyrics.
Dato Seiko mesmerized the crowd with her soft music and she had President Masisi dancing on the balcony of the President’s hotel.
Unlike other singers, she performed with a live band.
Amantle Brown, Ubuntu, Team Distant and ATI showed the Forbes Under 30 Summit Africa attendees that they were ready for the global stage as they dished out their fine tunes in an event which featured Jena
Dominique, DJ based in California, USA. Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) offered attendants a taste of the country’s beef. ENds
