Han C Khoi San for Vic Falls Carnival

Han C and Khoi San will feature together with over 30 Africa’s best acts at the Vic Falls Carnival slated for April 28-30.
“It is exciting and quite an honour to be part of the Vic Falls Carnival line up, as it will be a first time for me in that stage,” said Han C in an interview.
He said performing at Elephant Hills Resort in Zimbabwe is an opportunity for him to showcase his craft and talent to the world as the event pulls a diverse audience not only from Africa, but from across the world.
“It is an achievement to have been considered, because the organisers could have picked anyone from Botswana but they chose us,” Han C said.
He said the opportunity called for collaborations and networks with not only fellow musicians, but producers and record companies.
The Padi Padi hit maker said the event would grant him the opportunity to solicit any collaborations and deals.
“We also wish to penetrate the international market, and this is a chance to showcase our talent to international acts in the event, as we will be on the same line-up. And if they like what we do and want to work with us, we will certainly grab the opportunity,” he noted.
Han C is currently an independent artiste, who has worked with some artistes in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and other countries who provided assistance when he needs it.
He said if he ever got a recording deal, it would be on his terms as his plan has always been to be successful enough to be able to dictate terms of the contract.
“Most artistes sign whilst still hungry and end making ill informed decisions regarding their careers,” he said.
Han C said he was hopeful that after Vic Falls Carnival, more international bookings will come forth and Botswana music will also get airplay and recognition in other countries, possibly even overseas.
For Khoi San, this is second bite of pie having been there during the last event before COVID-19.
“We are looking forward to gracing the Vic Falls Carnival again,” said Khoi San duo of Thabang Rasefako and Oratile Kofa.
The duo also noted that as a result of the last appearance, they had collaboration opportunities, but unfortunately, they could not reveal more as negotiations were still on-going.
Moreover, they indicated that after the Vic Falls Carnival, they would be preparing for their annual shows here at home, including Khoi San ko Maitisong.
Addtionally the duet revealed they were cooking up something, to be dished in May.
Other acts billed for the Vic Falls Carnival include Musa Keys, Oskido, LKG, Mac G, Sol, Toss, Mdoovar and 9umba, Black Motion, Micasa and Mafikizolo from South; Nitefreak, Jah Prayza, Enzo, Ishall, Anita Jaxson, Andrea the Vocalist from Zimbabwe as well as TopCheri, from Namibia; among others.
