Dabilo Moses has booked herself a slot to represent Botswana at the Miss Supranational International beauty pageant to be held July in Poland.

The 22 year-old, the first ever Miss Supranational Botswana, was crowned by the current Miss Supranational International, who is also Miss South Africa 2021, Lalela Mswane during a glamorous event hosted Saturday at the Royal Aria Convention Centre in Tlokweng.

The First runner-up title went to Laura Alfred followed by Stephinah Sebina. Mswane said at a press conference on Friday that kindness, humility and being authentic was what set a beauty queen apart from the rest.

She said Miss Supranational had been amazing for her.

Even though she was aware that many parents did not endorse pageantry, she advised those still edgy about them that the exposure that came with participation was worth the effort.

“I know a lot of girls who did not make it [to the top] but the pageantry opened many doors for them,” stated Mswane.

To those who did not win, she said, “Being denied means being directed to your destiny, so do not despair,” Mswane said.

When interviewed, Moses who is also the current Miss Independence Botswana and was also among the top 16 Miss Botswana 2021, said her project, from the ground up, would focus on four objectives including  mental health and also work on narrowing the communication gap between adults and youth with the hope that they would voice what bothered them without being judged.

She will also give back to the community, support entrepreneurs and focus on reminding Batswana about their culture.

Dabilo will walk away with a brand new Haval Jolion.

Accommodation for the entire period of her reign and all her bills will be paid for.

The prize also comes with monthly groceries, monthly allowance, healthcare at Gaborone’s Sidilega Private Hospital and also a degree of her choice at Limkokwing University of Creative Arts and Technology.

First and second princesses have also won degree scholarships at Limkokwing University of Creative Arts and Technology, hair care for a month and six months of gym training. ENDS
