Women in the creative industry plan to come together to network with female entrepreneurs and also discuss opportunities in their industry.

They will, on Saturday, host the first ever concert dubbed Mosadi Khumo, aimed at building a solid foundation for them.

The event organiser, Tricia Sello of Khumo studios, said in an interview that the day would kick-start with female entrepreneurs showcasing their businesses and sharing business skills.

Stressing that networking was an essential craft to master, no matter what industry one is in, Sello said she believed that this would be a platform to build trust and support and also an opportunity for women to establish mutually beneficial relationships with other professionals, in and outside their industry.

She said the event would also help women in both business and the creative space to strengthen their networks; tap into the networks for ideas as well as  also raise their professional profiles.

Sello said the evening would  feature some of Botswana’s talented female artists, poets, singers, speakers, actors, and dancers, at different stages in their careers, adding that the likes of Amantle

Brown, Dato Seiko, Dj Fizzy would also grace the occasion. She added that those attending would also have the opportunity to tour stalls as part of networking and learn from each other.

“In that same space, we will also take time to ‘offer flowers’ and acknowledge contributions of those who came before us, celebrating and awarding them in appreciation,” she said.

Sello revealed that as part of their mandate to uplift and empower, Mosadi Khumo recently hosted The Diamond Search at Molapo Showcase, which was an opportunity for talented girls and women in the creative sector to secure a spot to perform alongside the top artists on the line-up during the Saturday event.
