Twelve battle for Miss Supranational crown

Miss Supranational Botswana organisers have cut down to 12 the ladies who will battle for the prestigious crown next month.
The announcement was made Saturday at Gaborone’s Game City that the winner of the pageant will represent Botswana at the Miss Supranational international in Poland in June.
One of the organisers, Kaone Moremong said Miss Supranational was all about promoting the tourism industry and that 98 countries were participating in the pageant.
She noted that the current queen was Miss South Africa, Lalela Mswane and that she was the first black women to win the pageant.
She explained that the pageant was also about talent and fashion in addition to beauty.
She added that some of the contestants, who were initially 30, were poets, musicians, actors and painters.
She said they would choose the winner based on their vibrant personality, humility, authenticity and leadership qualities.
She noted that the winner of the international competition would be expected to work for charitable causes and to travel the world promoting tourism and goodwill among all nations. ENDS
