Award winning Gospel artist Shinkie Keithokile popularly known as Shinkie Mochawacha and Sesame Khofi will perform in Maseru, Lesotho on Saturday.

Speaking in an interview with BOPA the Pilikwe-born Shinkie said he would be ministering with Minister Spokes, one of the popular artists in Lesotho, in a live recording.

He said the collaboration would also feature Puleng March, Esithu Siwe of Joyous Celebration, both from South Africa as well as Botswana’s Sesame, Boitshepho, and Boka Ratsebe among others.

Shinkie, who has won several awards such as best gospel song of the year and best gospel collaboration at last year’s gospel music awards as well as best styled male gospel artist at the annual glitz awards for BW celebs, could not hide his excitement.

His other successful projects include a collaboration with Omega Khunou on his hit Moya Waka. “This is a great move as it will help locals to collaborate and work with international artists and also market Botswana creatives,” he said.

Sesame Khofi of A re naya Mohau fame said the collaboration meant a lot to her, adding “I am super excited to be in Lesotho to record a ‘collab’ with Minister Spokes”.

She revealed that O Modimo was written and composed by her.

Sesame said collaborating with international gospel artists would help to spread her wings.

Both Shinkie and Sesame said there was a lot of talent in Botswana and they encouraged their artists to work hard to match or surpass the international standard and to use talents to change lives, help the lost, as well as boost the country’s economy. ENDS
