Eric nominated for USA Awards

 Botswana gospel award winning artist, Kabelo Eric Kgaodi of Take the Glory album has been nominated for two international awards.

The two awards are the Voices of Gospel Music Awards and the Gospel Choice Music International awards slated for September and June this year respectively in the United States of America.

In an interview, Eric said his album, Take the Glory had been nominated in four categories being Contemporary Album of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Extended Play of the Year and Inspirational Artist of the year.

He said for the Gospel Choice Music Awards, they nominated him in three categories, courtesy of his Urban Soul/Gospel Jazz single video of Itlhotlhore namely the Gospel Jazz Artist of the Year, International Male Artist/Vocalist of the Year and Urban Inspirational Artist of the year.

“These make a total of seven nominations bagged in the two Awards in the USA,” he said.

Asked how he got selected, he said, Gospel Choice Music Awards invited him for a live performance in October last year, during the Indie Artists Rock Gospel International Showcase event in Newark,

Delaware state in US, where he submitted his works and profile for the two awards.

Eric could not hide his excitement, he said, he could not wait to grace the awards and was looking forward to the two Awards ceremonies.

‘’My participation in these awards comes at a time when I am crafting my pathway to celebrate my establishment and honorarium feat in the American gospel music industry,” he said.

Eric said he was in quest of finding his space in the American gospel music industry and with his African gospel sound, fused with contemporary taste he hopes for the best.

The gospel star also believes that his music will resonate well with the American gospel industry by bringing something new and uncommon to the American audience.

Eric, who has bagged many awards has already won the Best Youth National Service Award in the Botswana performing Arts Category in 2008 and in 2011 he won Afroteinment Museke Online Africa Music Award for Best Religious Song in Africa held in New York, USA.

Locally, he has received two local nominations at the Botswana Music Union Awards in 2007 and 2014. As for the international nominations he has already received four being the Top Outstanding Young Persons of the World Awards in 2009 and 2013.

Eric was also nominated for Best Male Gospel Artist in Africa nominated by Africa Gospel Music Awards in 2011. “I was also nominated for Best Male Gospel Artist in Africa in KORA Africa Music Awards in 2016,” he said.

The music star said even though he had bagged many awards, he still works hard to perfect his singing skills and currently, he is working on his 6th Gospel Album which will be more traditional and contemporary gospel.

About the inspiration behind all these achievements he referenced God and said he believed he was born to manifest greatness through all his gifts.

“I am just living my purpose and I see myself in the years to come dominating not only Africa but the world stage of creativity,” he said. ENDS
