14 Feb 2023

A local company Bash Connektor is putting together an event dubbed Eat& Explore Tatso Connect to be held in Kasane from February 25 to 26.

The event, to be held in collaboration with local brand Oulde Chobe will take place on the same weekend as the FNB Kazungula Marathon.

Basadi Masimolole, the brains behind the Bash Connector concept said her company aimed to put together experiential gatherings where diverse cultures were connected through food, and storytelling hence the event.

“The idea of the Eat& Explore Tatso Connect is to allow people from Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia and other countries to share ideas and be exposed to other cultures through food, fashion and language,” she said.

She cited African dishes such as fufu and other Southern African traditional foods as examples of food that people would have the opportunity to taste and appreciate.

To explore the rich and diverse African food and fashion, she said, they had extended invitations to most embassies adding, “Kasane is close to Africa’s four corners where four countries Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe almost meet, therefore a great unifying opportunity for Southern Africa as a whole.

Bash, as she is commonly known, said people should expect ‘tatso’ or taste of Southern African music, food and fashion at the event.

“We are all about amplifying and connecting conversations that matter, she said.

She said they would also take on board food and beverage vendors with stalls available from P1 000 per day while partnership & sponsorship opportunities for corporates, Groups, Clubs,

Hospitality and businesses  would part with P15 000 for two days. Ticket entry per day is P100 for adults and P50 for kids. Ends
