Miss Botswana Lesego Chombo will represent Botswana at the Miss World pageant scheduled for UAE in May. 

“I feel absolutely ecstatic. It will be my first time out of the continent and I cannot wait!,” she said in an interview.

Regarding preparations, Chombo said, “so far so good. I started gym again after a three month hiatus ...it was the burst of energy I need to kick start the journey.”

Announcing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the host of the 7^1st Miss World competition, on Monday, Miss World Limited chairperson, Julia Morley she was  ‘delighted’ over the decision.

Miss World 2022, Karolina Bielawska of Poland will crown her successor at the end of the event.

UAE will be hosting the competition for the first time. 

The country, located at the eastern end of the Arabian Peninsula, shares borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia, while having maritime borders in the Persian Gulf with Qatar and Iran.

Dubai is the most populous city in the UAE and It is known for its tallest human-made structure, the Burj Khalifa, and the Burj Al Arab, one of the tallest hotel buildings in the world.

Miss World pageant was first held outside the United Kingdom in 1989 and past host countries include the United States, South Africa, Seychelles, and Poland. Ends
