 As part of preparations for the second edition of the Annual Glitz Awards of BW Celebs, organisers will host a workshop on February 4.

In an interview on Monday, the awards project manager, Nkgopolang Tlhomelang said his team decided to host a workshop to give media feedback on previous awards and to train  staff to  sharpen them for the upcoming awards scheduled for October.

Tlhomelang said the workshop also aimed at forming partnerships not only with government, but private and corporate sectors, adding that Botswana had a pool of young influencers who had proven to be game changers in advertising and promotion space.

He further said the Gaborone City Council Deputy Mayor, Mr Oduetse Tautona was expected to officiate this year’s workshop.

The purpose of the awards, he explained, was to establish a professional environment and formalise rewarding Botswana’ s decorated icons.

He said this year’s event would be bigger and better as it would comprise more than 40 categories. 

The categories would cover a wide scope ranging from high profile fashionable leaders, corporate executives, media icons, sport and creative industry, Thomelang said.

He said the project had been successfully marketed and promoted hence they would also see the team launching its new website during the workshop.
